Standing at a stunning 165m from the ground, the Singapore Flyer at Marina Bay is the world's largest observation wheel. We talk to some of the people that help to make this iconic attraction revolve with wonder and amazement.

Joseph R. Christie - Ticketing Supervisor

I supervise a team of 45 ticketing officers, and manage rostering and general ticketing operations.

Delivering good customer service is something I really enjoy, and this stems from my previous job working in frontline operations at the airport. It’s great to work here as there’s always exciting things happening every day, and although we are improving and fine-tuning how we work, everyone works as a close knit team to get things done.

Having been up in a capsule several times, I feel really inspired to see Singapore from such a majestic height, and I would recommend
going up in the capsule both during the day and at night, as it gives you different perspectives.

Thiruna R.

Hospitality Crew Supervisor

My job involves managing and guiding the hospitality crew to provide our customers with a pleasant and memorable experience on board the Singapore Flyer.

Prior to this, I’ve worked in many different jobs. I was a regular in the Army, been a taxi driver and also worked at the Jurong Bird Park for 13 years. Never did I imagine myself to be working at the Singapore Flyer!

I was born in 1965, the year Singapore gained independence, and I’ve been able to witness the amazing progress that our country has achieved in a relatively short time. So seeing how modern and advanced Singapore is from the capsule, is a very soothing and affirming experience for me. The Singapore Flyer will

be a unique experience for everyone - from families, to couples, to tourists, to newlyweds and even to business people, all of them will have their special memories from going on the Singapore Flyer.

The developments in Singapore’s tourism industry are massive, and it’s an unstoppable phenomenon that will create positive things like economic growth and creating many jobs. I’m really excited about the future, that’s for sure.

  Suherman
Giant Observation Wheel (GOW) Operator

As a GOW operator, my work area is around the boarding platform and control room. I help to usher people safely into the capsule and ensure that the capsule doors are safely closed before it goes up.

Safety is very important as people are excited to enjoy the ride and therefore we as GOW operators have to be alert and attentive at all times.

I would describe my experience going up in the Singapore Flyer as simply beautiful, because it’s a great sight to see the Singapore skyline and you can even see as far as Batam on a clear day!

Nurul

Ticketing Officer

I’m a ticketing officer and I always believe in doing my best to serve customers and attend to their needs so that they will have a great experience at the Singapore Flyer.

I feel very proud to work at the world’s largest observation wheel! It is quite a different experience from working as a ticketing officer at the Singapore Zoo. Although it’s great to be a part of Singapore’s exciting tourism industry all the same!

Personally, I’ve really enjoyed going up in a capsule and it rotates so smoothly that you don’t really feel it moving.

I certainly encourage everyone to experience the Singapore Flyer as it’s really uplifting!
